Who pressed the panic button?

Wow, my apologies for not updating this earlier, but I've been in panic mode the past week. I'm trying to sort everything out at work, so I don't get fired next week, I haven't done a thing to get ready for my mom's wedding in two weeks, I'm still collecting the last of my equipment, but the biggest blow of all has been my trailer.

My Bykaboose trailer came in yesterday, and I'm very impressed by it. It seems sturdy, collapses quickly, and was very quick to initially assemble. I'd already mounted a hitch on my unicycle in a place that wouldn't provide me any additional support, but when I tried to hitch the trailer, I realized that I needed to come up with a new idea.

The trailer's hitch arm, going from the trailer to the hitch on my unicycle, is angled to allow a bicycle wheel to turn unimpeeded in either direction. This angle made it impossible to pedal without the left crank smacking into it every stroke. I tried to bend the arm to fix this, and finally got it so I could pedal, but I could not turn at all. When I turned right, even a little, the enormous wheel rubbed against the hitch arm, and when I turned left, my crank arm was in the way again.

So I have to send it back to Bykaboose, which is a drag. And now I have to find a rack mount that will fit on a unicycle, or find someone whose really good with a brazing rod to make me one.

Not only that, but I have to tell people that I can't pull a trailer, and all that rubbish. It's just a dissapointment due to poor planning.

But, I'm still leaving May 6th. Fortunately, I stop working at the pharmacy soon, so I'll have more time to train, and prepare, and weld (as the case may be). Oh boy. Two weeks! Wish me luck!

Oh, one last note. I finally got a cell phone from, coincidentally, UNIcel. The people at the Unicel store in Auburn were great, and were very excited to meet me. I got the phone, activation, and a t-shirt for free. I was happy. I'll post my phone number once I hit the road, so you can contact me, catch up with me, or just talk to me.

Take care, everyone!

Max
